Today, I think I saw Eden before and understood what we were missing after.
Everything is so raw here.
It is like things are just as it was days after the Fall.
During the day it is beautiful, there is laughter, the sun makes everything fresh, real and gorgeous.
But the night comes. A whole new crowd appears, lights disappears, dust makes everything look dark and the smell seems of stale life.
It's like a glimpse of Eden, and the reason for the fall, here. So weird to know that two worlds exist at the same time.
Our tire blew a flat - twice today.
I am surrendering all this car stuff to God. What He wants to be done with it, let it be done. For some reason, I feel like we are not to sell it....that we are to surrender it to the LORD and be content with what we have. But don't tell that to the rest of the staff. :)
Today was the first day of registration/orientation for the children. Attendance was mandatory. This also started our first day of our meal program. We want out sponsored children to get at least one good meal a day for five days a week. So we are dedicating and looking into how that can be done, how much it will cost and how much is really needed. It will be WAY smaller portions than Saturday Club...but we believe that if the kids have nutritious food everyday they will be able to study better and prevent so many diseases. Pray with us that we have the exact amount of funds to feed our kids...and the ones that are to come.
After the meals we are making the P1-P2 kids go to the library for tutoring until 3 and then the P3-P7 will come after. They have no choice. The students will have NO excuses - we will feed them and be there to help them....they will pass and be the BEST students at Tegot Primary. Today we introduced not only the meals but how they need to come to the library and the expectations. I broke into teacher mode with little Okema. I have to say, I miss the classroom. Pato and Chrstine will be really working hard on the kids...excited for that. They also really want direction from me on this....so I am excited to train them!! They are such amazing people.
Now, if I could just figure out how to sleep....especially since the power is out and it is hot tonight....
Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus....because He first loved me.
:)
