I am getting embarassed...

...by all the food I've been served lately!
From Mary's AWESOME food (matoke, rice and ode) to doing family visits and getting some amazing meals - two to three times within 3 hours....you just get embarassed by eating so much. (a good Acholi way of say you are STUFFED!)

Speaking of food...I wish I could cook like Mary...she is amazing. I want to make something amazing with the maize and potatoes I was given but I am scared it will not be up to her standards!! She doesn't judge me...I do...lol

Two things keep on coming up:
1.) People keep on giving us chickens - live ones, that is.
and...
2.) People are opening up and sharing their stories more and more.

On that latter note, please be in prayer with Team Gulu on how we can minister to the parents/guardians. We are seeing a lot of pain and hurt that needs the power of Christ's redeeming love!!! Mary and I started praying about it since Saturday and today Pato mentioned something, too. Mary actually mentioned how great it is that God has put a team of people together who are like minded on this. We need prayer on how to start, handle, minister, etc. This is a VERY touchy subject that needs to be dealt with...pray for our boldness in livig our lives out for Jesus!!!

We are doing a lot of family visits. We have gone to resettled homes a lot and I have to say, even though they don't have everything and still need things, their homes are beautiful and so serene. The compounds are gorgeous with the best scenery EVER!! Though they have to walk awhile for water and such....it is spectacular. Camp life is disgusting...and now they can go home. It makes me want to do more for those who are having a hard time moving home...I see what they want to go back to!!!

Found out today that my old school is doing a week long Spirit week fundraiser for the huts....one parent in particular (BVD's dad) donated enough for one hut!! I am so grateful! I keep on getting messages and emails from people who say they will help and everytime I am like - but we have enough already...then God gives us more people in our paths that need assistance...and PRAISE HIM....we are able. Now we need to get more workers!! It is cool...we are not only able to help families move we are able to help men get jobs!!! PG!!!!

God is good....

So what do you do exactly with these live chickens once you are given them? Maybe God is trying to tell you that you shouldn't be a vegetarian. ;) Miss you. Love reading all about your experiences.
