I swear, as much as I love Pastor Joe, I have no clue where he was going today...but that made it easier for me to hear God CLEARLY speak "in quietness and rest you will find strength." Not from PJ but from the HS.
I dug around in my bible for a bit...and I found it:
"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,"
~ Isaiah 30:15
I am praying on something that is dear to my heart. Something I am trying to discern if it should even be dear to my heart. It is almost like it is seated at the root of my heart, but the center and the top of my heart just doesn't feel it anymore. Not sure if the root will blossom up a "new" recreated love or if it will die away. So I am seeing where I need to repent, rest, be quiet and trust...I don't want God to tell me I never wanted what He has for me...
I am happy to report that we found a new restaurant to eat at. It is owned by a husband/wife team from IL, who love the LORD and make AMAZING food!! Sankofa Cafe. So excited!!!! We now have 5 places to go. :) Oh, almost forgot - they make the BEST bread in the whole wide world!!!!! Tastes just like my mama's homemade bread she used to make when we were little. YUM!!
Spent a lot of time reading, resting, praying, and cleaning my shoes. Yup...cleaned my shoes. :)
I still have to say this church planting book is by far the most influential, exciting book, next to the Bible, I have EVER read. Finished it and have a ton and a half notes. Actually copying scriptures to help me pray through it...AMAZING!!!
If you want the reality of Christ in your life...if you want to impact the kingdom....if you have a desire for the lost people...if you have a hunger for the Word, discipleship and God, I HIGHLY recommend it. HIGHLY is not even high enough to explain how much I think you should you read it. It will inspire you. It inspires me.
