Sigh :)

This week, ECM staff are going through a discipleship/gospel sharing training session…errrr….sorry, seminar. Kent is leading it (this is what he is trained to do). It has been extremely beneficial for the staff. I actually teared up a bit watching some of the staff totally jump on board and get excited about it. You can see their love for Jesus and they just want to bust out and share!! Christine and Mary truly are changing before my eyes. Erik is a TOTALLY new person and just SOAKING it in. Tony really wants to try, he really wants it. Pato is learning like he has never learned before. It is so cool. ECM staff will be IMPACTING the kingdom….

Now bringing you the Kingdom of God….TEAM GULU!!!

Ahh – that makes me so pleased.

Our first day we learned about knowing God is like a treasure…a pearl. I’ve read that before but it hit my heart at a different angle this time. How I love God’s word….anyways, it reminded me how much I need to be willing to give everything up for this treasure…my family, my friends, my comfort, my peace, my health, my life….my life. It reminded me again, that I what I am doing, isn’t for me…it is because I have found that pearl. It is worth so much to me I have given up every little and big thing. My Favor of God friends, Janessa, Amanda, and Cassandra, gave me a necklace with pearls and African beads. It represents the things a pearl has to endure in order to be a polished precious bead….finally worth something. Tying those two together really made my heart race for Jesus even more. Sigh.

This week we went with the station concept again for our classes. AH!! It works so well….it is great; they get to do art, listen to a story and work on their basic skills like writing their names. The kids are LOVING it and just eating it up. We are able to see which kids need extra help because each station has 6 students to one or two staff. So those who need extra help we can work with; those who are above we can give challenges; those who are on pace can get some good practice. It is awesome. Sigh.

Mama Moses – Rose, is beautiful. Her smile just radiates. It is Jesus. Erik and I followed up with her from last Thursday when she accepted Christ. We went to see how she was, she what we could pray for her on and share scripture to encourage her walk. We focused on her salvation being secure in Christ. She ate it up. Her mother and father sat and listened to it. Erik totally led the conversation with some of the scripture I shared with him to share with her. It was cool to see him get into it. He is really growing. I felt the Holy Spirit asking me to see her with spiritual eyes. I did. As she was praying us out, I saw her bringing other to Christ through prayer and the gift of healing. It was weird. It was somewhat confirmed when Erik shared with her his testimony about his sister, Jane, and how with authority and faith she could do that because she is a believer and follower of Christ now. She looked a bit taken back by it – I mean her sons are sick, her father is crippled…yet, here we were telling her that Christ can and will use her to bring all of them to Himself through her. Pretty neat. She didn’t stumble over it…she just said she isn’t ready. Now, we pray that she will have that boldness and faith.

Bagels this morning. A woman was trained by the Peace Corps in bagel making…pretty darn close. Ugandans don’t like it, but oh well.

Maggie is sick with malaria….we prayed for her at Larem…it encouraged her.

Met another muzungo. She has purple hair and bright lipstick. Saw her at Tegot yesterday – today at Larem. We introduced ourselves and chatted…lovely person. Here to help with boreholes. Very cool. Exchanged numbers and will plan a dinner chat time.

Ok, so what is it with me burning my lip with noodle water? You know how tubes of noodles have water in them....so when you take a noodle to check if it is ready and the water burns your lip....ya.....nice big ol blister on your lip...what is that about?
