Just sometimes.
Yesterday, Regina and Taregina, both came to the LORD because we felt prompted to drive them from the side of the road by Evelyn’s house to the market. Before they got in the van, I told Christine to share the Gospel with them. And she did. And they came to the LORD.
How sweet is that?
Did some digging today but was put in place as a planter. Took Ajok's place while Wan Laker dug. Pretty cool...This munu can dig! And I think I have proved myself a bit. ;)
We definitely found the person of peace in Tegot. Evelyn. Gosh I love her and admire her. She sets up all these appointments for us to follow up with the new believers AND joins us. It is unreal. Very cool. We are kinda discipling and training her as we are discipling the new believers. It is really cool. She really digs it. It is so exciting. I just love this woman and am so glad to have her in my life.
Today, we FINALLY met with Min Laker Matiti (Laker’s real mother – Evelyn, Mama Laker Madit, is her grandmother, remember). We didn’t get to talk to her one on one because her husband sat in on it all, but we were able to counsel, advise and support her and Godfred’s marriage. Mary shared what a godly marriage looks like, we both shared scripture and prayed with them. It really encouraged them and there is a lot of forgiveness going on in that relationship. It is sweet to see. They both said they see themselves and the relationship in a better way and have a good idea of how to proceed in their marriage. It was really sweet. Min Laker just beamed. It was cool. It was even better when Christine Zion was able to stay back and spend most of the day with her. There, Min Laker, was able to talk privately with another woman.
Mary, Ash and I were able to trek through the bush and meet with people. First, an unexpected stop to Taregina’s home. We met her son who is disabled and talked to her. She is so filled with the Holy Spirit. This old, frail, spunky woman loves Jesus in just one day and thinks about all of her choices in this manner, “Does a saved person do this?” It is endearing and funny at the same time. Her son has been saved for some time now so it is good they have each other. She ended up joining us at Mama Bicentina. There we discipled Bicentina and Taregina AND shared the Gospel with others who were invited by Bicentina to meet us and hear the Gospel. Mama Ogen’s sister, Veronica, truly desired and hungered for the LORD and finally made the commitment. It was beautiful. Funny thing was that I had to train all these women about hugs. HA! I am so used my other Mamas knowing about hugs…forgot what it was like to teach someone how to hug again. Funny.
Yesterday, we started our women's discipleship group. Every Wednesday the women gather to dig and help a family out. After that they share a meal and the Word. Well, Evelyn has given us the go to do discipleship so then these women can go out and make disciples. They ate it up!!!! Mama Aol, Rose, received Christ. The mamas were excited...they really wanted to get into the Word!! It was beautiful. Neat part was when we were driving into Mama Kwo Ber's home they all did their Acholi cry to welcome us and then they ran to hug us. I love the fact that they know to hug. ;)
I haven’t written a detailed account of what has been going on in awhile…so here it is. This is pretty much my life now: socializing, counseling, sharing the Gospel, encouraging and discipling. This is what I am called to do here. And I absolutely love it!!!
Thanks, God. ;)
