Pictures....

I look at wedding and engagement photos and wish I had an album. I look at the extravagance and glamour of beaded dresses, fancy hair, plush bouquets, wine, studded rings, embraces, decorated cakes and romantic shots. I think to myself “how much would I love to have a day like that?!”

But I would not exchange it for the life of sun kissed cheeks, dust laced eyelashes, passion fruit smelling hands, clay orange feet, high pitched Acholi speaking toddlers, ants everywhere, sun and rain when it pleases, whole hearted laughs, football in the gravel-pot-holed-muddy road, shaking hands, smiling fully to break stoned cold faces to warm pieces of artwork only a good and gracious God could carve out…

No, as much as the dream world of weddings seem beautiful to me, the dream of living for my Saviour is so much more real, amazing and beautiful….

Words seem meaningless. I can’t describe it. I could refer you to His Word where He fully shows Himself – but I feel His Word JUMPS out into reality here…in Gulu…ahhhh, in Tegot. To be here you would understand why the exchange would NEVER happen on my watch. It HAS to happen hand in hand.
